 THE RECORDS – Catholic is 3-4 in 2012, including a 1-3 mark in District 4AAA. The Irish lost at Maryville last week, 38-6. West is 5-2 this season, including a 2-2 record in District 4AAA. The Rebels lost at Lenoir City last week, 42-27.

 ON THE SIDELINE – Scott Meadows is in his fourth year at the helm of the Irish. His record at Catholic is 20-21. In his 14th year as a head coach, Meadows has posted a 108-56 career record (.659). Previous stops for the Tennessee Tech graduate include Sequoyah, Alcoa, Jefferson County, and William Blount. His 2000 Alcoa squad captured the state title.

 RACK ’EM UP — Catholic has won 77 of its last 97 regular season games.

 DISTRICT FOES – Catholic participates in Class 5A. The Irish are in District 4AAA, which includes (playoff bracket in parentheses): West (5A), Lenoir City (5A), Bearden (6A), Farragut (6A), Heritage (6A), Maryville (6A), and William Blount (6A).

 TEAM STATS — Catholic averages 320.7 yards per-game in total offense, including 280 yards on the ground and 40.7 yards through the air. Defensively, Catholic allows 310 yards per-game, including 145.6 yards on the ground and 164.4 yards through the air. Catholic averages 21.4 points per-game. Opponents average 21.7 points per-game.

 TURNOVER MARGIN – Catholic is even in turnover margin this season. The Irish have thrown six interceptions and lost three fumbles, while opponents have thrown three interceptions and lost six fumbles.

  LAST YEAR VS. WEST – Catholic’s Homecoming crowd left disappointed as the Irish fell to West, 34-14. Nolan Coulter, who rushed 20 times for 129 yards on the evening, put Catholic in front, 7-0, with his three-yard run in the first quarter. West put three touchdowns on the board in the second quarter to lead at the half, 21-7. Coulter’s two-yard run in the third quarter pulled the Irish to within seven, 21-14, before West scored the game’s final two touchdowns. Catholic rushed for a season-high 264 yards in the contest. Besides Coulter’s effort, Cole Lombardo added 67 yards on ten carries. On defense, Joey Cook had a pass interception for the Irish.

WEEK SEVEN – Top-ranked Maryville remained undefeated with its 38-6 home win over Catholic. Nolan Coulter provided Catholic’s points with his 13-yard run in the fourth quarter. Coulter posted his 18th career 100-yard rushing game with 142 yards on 27 carries. Logan Lacey led the Irish defense with ten tackles, including one for-loss. David Hamilton and Stuart Smith each added eight stops.

 TOP STOPPERS – Logan Lacey leads Catholic in tackles with 54, including seven tackles for-loss. Stuart Smith has 50 tackles, including three for-loss. BOOM THAT BALL – Punter Nathan Teter is averaging 42.3 yards per-punt. Teter also has four inside-the-20 efforts and had a 75-yard boot against Lenoir City.
